THE ORCHARD AT THE RANCH. A very appropriate name for a very unique place. Since the Fuller family began ownership of the property in 1949, everyone, both friends and family have referred to it as "the ranch". It was leased out to various persons until 1960 when Lawrence (Larry) got out of the Air Force and moved his family in. The ranch was a great place to raise white faced Herefords with an occasional sheep, donkey, or horse grazing on the hills. But mostly, it was a place for numerous gatherings, barbeques, and hill hikes for both young and old friends throughout the county.
In 1967, they planted a small Valencia orange orchard and that is when visitors began to say,
"Lets go out to the Orchard at the Ranch." And the name just stuck!
In 1977, without any special development, the Fuller's daughter, Vanessa was married at the end of the orchard with the beautiful orange trees in the background. Afterward, the Fullers had several requests to use the ranch for weddings, but they had to say no because they weren't set up to accommodate such events.
The Fullers celebrated their 50th anniversary at the ranch in 2002, with over 200 guests, and it was then that the family gathered together and made a decision to develop a site right in the middle of the orange trees. So now, not only are there orange trees in the background for a wedding or special event, there are orange trees all around - front, back, and sides - with curving walkways, fountains, flowers, and lovely lights for nighttime events. The beautiful rolling hills which surround the property are an added bonus, giving it the unique charm of a rural setting.
